Summary: The room was large but slightly barren/spartan (lots of space, very limited furniture). While only being there for a couple of nights, we stayed in two rooms. They were almost identical, but with differences in amenities provided (particularly glasses) and low-level damage. We were in Wellington for a weekend break - the first night the hotel alarms went off at 1120pm, and we got to return to a new room and bed about 230am. This seriously spoil our time. The alarm was, apparently caused by a gas leak from hotel refrigeration systems (i.e., the hotels problem). I was also very concerned at the very poor communication with the guests outside at night in the cold for multiple hours. Very little communication, almost none. If that is the safety and care for customers shown by the Ramanda chain, well - I can't recommend the safety standards, so I don't think I will return (it is my second visit). The staff I met outside the time of the alarm were nice, and also kind. We had a late checkout I appreciated too. And we were impressed by how quiet the room was.
